About
The Arike Kidney Foundation is a non for profit organization born out of passion and compassion;
Passion for helping those living with Kidney infections or Kidney transplant survivors and compassion to empathize with the challenges that they go through. Experiencing life after having a Kidney transplant and its attendant challenges has propelled me into creating an avenue to help as many survivors as possible to get succor, mentally, physically and financially, to aid their health walk and to mitigate their neglect by the government.
Our
Story
Story
At a time when it was completely unexpected, I came down with a Kidney infection. There was no visible pointer or suspect that could have led to this conclusion about my health; I was, literally, thrown in the middle of a scary life-or-death situation.
Today, after having a Kidney transplant, several surgical procedures and against all odds, I have survived and am still surviving daily. It is not a walk in the park yet I am here because of God and the tremendous support from all sides to help me on this health walk. The recognition that this road is easier walked with support systems is what has led me to begin this foundation.
At the time of my diagnosis, there was no support from the government or other bodies; those who were my shoulders to lean on were God, my family and friends. From experience, I know that timely access to relevant information and cost effective medication, health care and procedures would go a long way in helping those who have found themselves in this predicament. This is what I seek to achieve that as many as possible can have a normal life again.

Even good people find themselves in difficult situations. Dealing with Kidney infections can be trying and it is, sometimes, not caused by something the patient did like indulging in a bad habit. In my case, there was no unhealthy lifestyle to validate the onset of the Kidney infection, however, the walk could have been easier.
